New addition to my craft room

So a couple of weeks ago, I treated myself to a cricuit explore 2 which I’ve had my eye on for a while. Since getting it I’ve made so many projects and will be uploading some posts soon.  My latest project using the Cricut has been personalised baubles for family and friends for Christmas. I used 6cm clear baubles and fake snow all from The works.  Using Rose Gold Vinyl from circuit, all I needed to do was input the names needed into design space, in my chosen font and scale them to fit a 5cm circle template. Once all the names were written and sized, I simply selected the material and cut them out.  Cleaning the side of the bauble I wanted to place the name on with rubbing alcohol, I then applied transfer tape to the name and placed it on the bauble, smoothing it down as I went to eliminate any air bubbles.  To finish them with fake snow and I’m happy with how they turned out. To gift them, I simply sized and cut multiple boxes out using a Cricut template....

Coaster gifting box.

Good morning everyone,  I decided to make a little gift box to put the coasters in for Christmas, after deciding how many coaster people would be having, I set about working out the measurements.  For this project I have used greyboard as it will hold the weight of the coasters and not crush in the meantime like a normal plain card box would.  I have decorated the boxes using Christmas paper and am toying with the idea of adding ribbon too.  So the measurements I have used for 6 10x10 coasters are:  For the base: 11x11cm (1) and 11x3cm (4) for the sides.  For the lid: 11.6cmx11.6cm (1) and 11.6x3.4cm (4) for the sides  Using red and green card, but you can use any colour you like I set the base and two sides down on some paper, leaning about 1/8 of an inch gap between the base and the sides. Folding over the edges and cutting the corners I then proceeded to glue the edges over onto the greyboard.  With the remaining two sides for the base, you wil...

A different kind of Christmas.

Given the hardship we have all faced this year, I knew Christmas won’t be what it normally is. So I decided to make as many presents for family and friends as I could this year, just to show the love.  I’m a big fan of positivity papercraft on YouTube and I came across her video for homemade coasters and decided to have a go. Surprisingly they were very easy to do as I had most stuff in my stock already (minus Christmas napkins and coasters, but nothing Amazon couldn’t solve).  The thing I love most about homemade gifts is that you can really personalise them, meaning everyone’s experience of the gift will be different.  So yesterday I sat in my craft room, gathered my supplies and had a go based off Ann’s video and I think they have turned out very well.  I have used super gloss mod podge to seal the coasters which will make them waterproof once fully cured which can take 4 weeks, so good job I’ve started now. Once the napkin was damp and on the coaster, I gen...
